Dr Frank Travers joined Avimune as co-owner in 1995 and served as CEO of Avimune between 2005 and 2010. He is still a director of the company.

Immediately prior to joining Avimune, Dr Travers worked as a Senior Lecturer in Poultry Health at the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Onderstepoort. Before that he was a partner in a mixed rural practice in Potchefstroom for 9 years, after serving for two years in the military as a veterinarian at the Equestrian Centre.

Dr Travers obtained his BVSc in 1983 and his MMedVet (cum laude) in poultry health in 1995. He completed a senior management course at the University of Pretoria in 1996. He is registered as a Specialist Practitioner in Poultry Health.

Since 2011, Dr Travers has been based in the Western Cape. He serves clients in the broiler industry in the Western Cape and across Southern Africa.
